ABOUT: This movement endeavor was built from my own passion to get outside but also the fulfillment that comes from helping athletes of all walks get after it. Whether you’re a competitive athlete, weekend multi-sporter, nervous excited beginner, or someone needing weekly motivation, I’ll give you the tips you need to train smart, the motivation you need to work hard, and the community you need to have the most fun doing it!
Currently calling Arcata, CA home, I split my time between leading energizing yoga classes at Tosha Yoga and pushing limits in strength and conditioning at our hidden gem of a gym on South G Street.
As a teacher, my goal is to help clients/students develop a movement practice that creates a sense of freedom from moving intelligently, fluidly, and dynamically.
EXPERIENCE: My experience comes from tucking myself under the wings of legends in the field. I’ve been apprenticing since I was 18.
I have a background in D1 NCAA Athletics, at the University of Washington, where I gained a deep understanding of strength and conditioning tactics. From there I began teaching specific Yoga for Athletes classes with Jasyoga, the first Yoga for Athletes company on the West coast.
In addition to teaching yoga, I completed a 3-year internship training with Physical Therapists from Experience Momentum on advanced biomechanics, injury prevention principles, and performance outcomes. I gained in depth knowledge of anatomy, common injuries, and how to empower clients to take their health into their own hands. I started my Doctorate of Physical Therapy but did not complete it. Instead, I’ve continued my own exploration of anatomy, breath, and the human spirit with legendary teachers such as Suzanne Dunning, Tiffany Cruikshank, Karen Gurtner, Michelle Drielsma, Tom Meyers, Janet Stone, and Wim Hof.
